Playing with Stories is a 32pp book and was written as a record of Discover's outreach programme aimed at adults who work with children as well as parents and carers. There was a worry within Discover that the subject matter was dry and would not appeal to many people and therefore not be read. After reading and absorbing the copy, we sourced images from Discover that showed children and adults happily engaged in the activities discussed in the book. By using illustrations created by children, a bold colour palatte and images of hootah we created a publication that is attractive to both adults and children which achieves all the objectives. We were very pleased when four months after delivery of the publications Discover required a reprint. |
