We've long been interested in paper engineering and through discussions
with The British Museum Press we were invited to create an interactive paper product for
the Sutton Hoo ship.
The design had to be sympathetic to three existing models, but we were asked to
give the designs a more contemporary feel. We commissioned illustrator Richard Lee to
depict the ship itself, along with the people and the artifacts found in and around it.
These drawings were then organised by us into a detailed papercraft layout for owners to build.
We ensured that the illustrations construction of the ship were as historically accurate as possible
to the approval of the curators involved.
